Rainy days

Took Grandson to one of those play centres this afternoon. Basically the kids run around playing on climbing frames, slides and suchlike while we oldies drink coffee. He made a new friend so we asked him:-

"What's your new friends name?"

"Noah," replied Grandson.

Noah? I sipped my coffee and gazed out of the window. Hmm... still raining.

The rain has now stopped, regardless of anything your grandson's little friend might think. I know this because we set off for our Devon holiday tomorrow. A week confined to a cottage on Dartmoor would be too much for me to bear, so it can't happen. Radio silence from me for a week, and here's hoping the sun doesn't scorch your northern hills too badly.

Currently parked in a farmyard in Suffolk because the camping field was so squidgy this afternoon that I didn't dare try and drive the camper onto it.

The natural order of things. :)

The rain does seem to be on its last legs today, almost as if dry weather had been ordered for the Olympics.

Were "Wet Wet Wet" playing on the sound system?

Sam - lucky you - likely to be the first decent week of summer too. Have a good time and recharge those batteries.

Woodsy - It'll dry out for you if the forecast is right. I like Suffolk but haven't been down there for a while.

James - yes it may have been the last for a while. Just as well - the river outside was a torrent - as high as I've seen it.

Demetrius - there was a sound system which almost had me standing outside in the rain. Fortunately the shrieking kids drowned it most of the time.
